How to Apply IEC code in India - Step by step process for IEC code 2021 



IEC code is 10-digit code for Importer or Exporter. which provide by the regional office of Director general of foreign trade(DGFT).

IEC code full form is IMPORT EXPORT CODE.

Import Export code issued once on each firm against single PAN number.

IEC is only document which through your company can get every government advantages regarding International trade.

Documents for proprietorship firm/company:-

  • Rental/Lease Agreement (In case office is rented/Leased) or latest electricity/telephone bill.
  • Cancelled cheque  with pre-printed name of applicant's company and A/c No.
 

Documents for Partnership firm/company:-

  • Copy of PAN card of the applicant entity.
  • Copy of Partnership deed.
  • Rental/Lease Agreement (In case office is rented/Leased) or latest electricity/telephone bill.
  • Cancelled cheque  with pre-printed name of applicant's company and A/c No.

After collecting all documents, let's look full process of IEC code.

Here we have give step by step guide with screenshots for the procedure to apply IEC code.

The steps for the IEC code  Registration as follow:

Step 1: Open the DGFT website and Register/Login

The first step to going on DGFT site .

Then do Register to your company or if you did before it  then only do Login to your Account.

Here Provide all your details as per required.



Step 2: Open the first page of  DGFT website


After Register/Login you can see this first page. This is the very informative page here you get all notifications and news related Import-Export trade.

Now, click on the Apply IEC button for start procedure of IEC code.

Step 3: Go on Start Fresh Application button

Now, you click on the Start Fresh Application button, which is located on the left bottom side of screen.

Step 4: Fill Basic details 

After open this page you have to fill basic details regarding your company. You have to enter data like:
  1. Nature of concern
  2. Firm name
  3. PAN of the entity
  4. Name as per PAN
  5. Date of birth
  6. Category of exporter i.e. whether Merchandise exporter or Manufacturer exporter.
  7. select, Whether firm is located in Special Economic zone(SEZ).
  8. select, Whether the firm is located in Export Oriented Unit Scheme.
  9. Enter CIN/LLPIN  in case of  LLP or company.
  10. Enter GST number.
  11. Enter the main and phone no.
  12. Upload proof of establishment/incorporation/registration for the given entity.
  13. Enter the firm address.
  14. Upload supporting documents as proof of Address.

After filling this details click on "save and next" button.


Step 5: Fill Proprietor/Partner/Director/Karta/Managing Trustee related Details

Now, fill details regarding Proprietor and partner related details.

  1. Name as per PAN database.
  2. PAN no of the person i.e. Proprietor/Partner/Director/Karta/Managing Trustee.
  3. Date of Birth as per PAN.
  4. Address of Proprietor/Partner/Karta/Managing Trustee.
  5. Mobile no of Proprietor/Partner/Karta/Managing Trustee.

After filling this details click on "save and next" button.


Step 6: Fill Bank Related Information


Now, fill the Bank related information of entity.

  1. Account no
  2. Account holder Name
  3. IFSC code
  4. Bank Name
  5. Branch Name

Step 7: Fill other details regarding Preferred Sector

Now, select other details i.e. Preferred your working sector.

Step 8: Select the Acceptance of declaration/undertaking and fill the place 

After filling this details click on "save and next" button.

Step 9: Final submission

Now, click on "sign" button.

Step 10: Select mode of submission

Now, select the mode of submission Digital signature or Aadhaar OTP

In case you select Aadhar OTP option then you see this activity. Here enter Aadhar number and click on get OTP and then submit the form.

Step 11: Make Payment


After the signing the form is done, then you have to pay 500rs. payment for generate IEC code.

After payment successfully complete. page will redirect to DGST website and receipt shall be displayed. You also can download it.


Step 12: Get IEC code 

After complete all process you will get your IEC code in your email. If you want to download IEC code then you have to login on DGFT site and then you will download it.



CONCLUSION

IEC is one time generating code on each PAN number.

Open DGFT site and start procedure for IEC code, Fill all details which required for IEC. And then make Payment.

And you will get IEC code on your registered email.

If you get IEC code is doesn't mean now you can start your Import and Export business. First of all you have to understand whole procedure and all Documents which required during this process.
